Society, total labour power

Section 1, Chapter 1.1

The first occurrence of the society concept is defined as the total labor force.

The total labour power of society, which is embodied in the sum total of the values of all commodities produced by that society, counts here as one homogeneous mass of human labour power, composed though it be of innumerable individual units.

There is a slight difference between German and English. In German says "darstellt" (represented), but in English says "embodied". There are a society because there is a human labour power, represented by the values ​​of all commodities.
